Mini Golf to feature as a sport at the Oswestry Games 2012

We are delighted to be part of the Oswestry games after the kind invitation from the British Mini Golf Association to come to Shropshire to exhibit our portable mini golf course.

The British Minigolf Association will be taking part in the Oswestry Games on the 14th & 15th July and will be offering a mix of Coaching, Demonstrations, Have a Go activities, a Pro-Am Doubles/Team event, and an Elite Competition for BMGA Tour Pro players.

Players from the British Mini Golf Association (BMGA) Tour and members of the Great Britain Minigolf Team will be on-hand at the Oswestry Games to introduce people to the game of Minigolf and also team with members of the public in a Pro-Am Doubles competition. The contest will be held at Cae Glas Park on Saturday 14th July. The course will be open from 8am until dusk as normal and Coaching & Demonstrations will begin at 11am. The competition will start at 1pm.

On Sunday 15th July the Oswestry Games fun day will be taking place at Oswestry Leisure Centre and our portable mini golf course will be set-up for the public to play from 9am-5pm. The course will cost £2 per round and everyone who plays will be able to enter their best score into the BMGA Oswestry Open competition which will run from 9am-3.30pm. Players will also be able to sign-up for a free British Minigolf Association standard membership.

The Oswestry Games is a community event which will take place in and around Oswestry from the 6th to the 15th July 2012. Oswestry Sports Council has brought together a strong organising committee which is working hard to make the Oswestry Games a huge success and are involving local sports clubs and arts organisations in this once-in-a-lifetime event!
