Most Holes Played in 24 Hours
If you think one or two rounds of mini golf is tiring, imagine playing for a full 24 hours! In 2015, Canadian golfer Bradley Tucker set the record for the most mini golf holes played in 24 hours, completing an incredible 4,729 holes at the Putt-Putt Fun Center in Richmond, Virginia. That’s over 260 rounds of mini golf in just one day! Tucker’s stamina and dedication earned him a spot in the Guinness World Records, and this remains an unparalleled achievement in the sport.
Most Holes-in-One in 24 Hours
One of the most extraordinary records in the world of mini golf is the Most Holes-in-One in 24 Hours, held by Peter Edenborough. This feat of skill and stamina was achieved when Edenborough managed to sink an astonishing 934 holes-in-one in a single day. This marathon performance took place during a charity event in Australia, raising funds for Bear Cottage, a children’s hospice. The record attempt helped raise over $3,000, proving that mini golf can be a tool for both fun and philanthropy.
Oldest Mini Golf Course
The Ladies’ Putting Green, also known as “The Himalayas,” was the first documented miniature golf course, established in 1867 at St Andrews Links in Fife, Scotland. Designed by Old Tom Morris, it was created to provide women with a space to enjoy golf at a time when it was frowned upon for women to swing a club above shoulder height in public. This nine-hole course, later expanded to 18 holes, marked a significant moment for women in sports.
Most Mini Golf Courses Visited
From 2006 to 2022, British mini golf enthusiast and competitive player Richard Gottfried visited a staggering 902 different miniature golf courses around the world. Of these, he played a round at more than 560 venues, often with his wife, Emily, by his side. Richard’s passion for mini golf became an incredible journey, setting a world record while visiting and playing on some of the most unique and challenging courses across the globe. His dedication, alongside Emily, highlights his deep love for the game, making him one of the most well-travelled and committed mini golf enthusiasts in the world.
Deepest underground miniature golf course
The deepest underground mini golf course is Zip World’s 18-hole Underground Golf course, located 500 feet (152 meters) below the surface in the disused Llechwedd slate mine near Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, UK. Opened on 29 July 2022, the course is spread across four levels and takes about 1.5 hours to complete, with temperatures in the cavern staying at a cool 7°C (45°F). In addition to mini golf, Zip World offers other activities, including a zip line and a bouncy netted obstacle course, making it a thrilling destination for adventurers.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, holds the title of the “Minigolf Capital of the World.” Along the 60-mile Grand Strand coastline, there are 33 mini golf venues as of September 2022, averaging one course every two miles.
