The Sun brings beach event to village primary school

We were recently approached for the hire of our Seaside Photo Boards from The Sun newspaper and were astounded to find that only 1 in 10 children have ever been to the beach.

1 in 10 British children never been to a beach
Journalist Mike Ridley from The Sun, known as the beach expert, took the seaside to a primary school in the most central part of England (and farthest point away from the sea) in a landlocked village called Coton in the Elms.  The children were delighted to see sand and make a sandcastle, something a shocking 36% of school children have never done.

Published on 24th July 2014, The Sun featured the beach and all the ingredients to make a fun day for primary school children in the Derbyshire village, along with our Boy on the Donkey photo board.

Along with two tonnes of fine white sand, palm trees, deck chairs and plenty of buckets and spades, our PicturePutt board stood proud in the beached area.

Our PicturePutt boards also work well as an event prop, and are perfect for event managers looking to add a touch of the seaside to an event.  If you are running a beach themed event, do get in touch – we have 8 other beach themed boards for hire.
