Cambridgeshire teenager Adam Kelly set a new mini golf record for a British player at the World Minigolf Championships, where he competed alongside his father Tony last week.
The Kellys were the first father and son duo to represent Great Britain at the tournament, in Bad Munder, Germany, where the team managed to break their duck of always finishing bottom to edge ahead of Poland to finish 12th out of 13.
Adam, 18, and representing Great Britain at the championships for the first time, came joint 54th out of 106 men – the best ever individual performance by a Great Britain player at the World Championships = awesome stuff Adam!
He was just three strokes away from making the top 50 and 11 strokes (in eight rounds) away from the top 32 and a place in the matchplay finals.
He shot a new British mini golf record of 26 on felt and rounds of 21, 22 and 23 on eternite.
Well done Adam!
