Mini Golf in your local shopping centre?

I came across a Mini Golf Shopping Centre article which suggests that mini golf and other entertainment, is growing ever more popular in shopping malls across the USA.  I then wondered  why these sorts of activity are not something more regularly seen across shopping centres across the UK.

‘Stroll through a mall these days, and you’re just as likely to pass an indoor race track or mini golf course as you are mall staples such as Belk, Gap and Victoria’s Secret. Consumers are looking for more than just shopping. They are looking for an experience. Shopping centres here have added everything from train rides inside the mall to an indoor inflatable playground in a store space aiming to reel tourists in.  Lunar Golf, a glow-in-the-dark mini golf business opened last week in the mall and features original artwork, glow in the dark balls, black lights and glowing holes in Myrtle Beach Mall.’

So where can you see Mini Golf in a shopping centre in the UK?

A shopping centre in Ipswich last year hired a course from Putterfingers and it was a resounding success.  It was used to encourage shoppers into the centre and to market shops with less footfall.  With separate mini golf holes dotted across the centre, it was a great way to increase the flow of traffic towards certain stores that may have been offering their own promotion and of course a great way to keep the kids busy while Mum does her shopping!
