New Belfast adventure golf course
Lost City Adventure Golf are to open a new minigolf course in the Cityside Retail Centre as part of a major revamp of the Centre. Lost City already have a course in Nottingham, and they took the opportunity for another one in Belfast when they heard of the renovation of Cityside. The Inca-themed course will feature waterfalls, moving walls, musical landscaping and statues.
Cityside is expecting a boost in trade when the new Ulster University campus opens its door nearby in 2018, with a large amount of student accommodation also being built within walking distance. Around 15,000 students are expected to find themselves just a few minutes away, so footfall at Cityside should see a jump. This makes it perfect for a crazy golf leisure offering. The new minigolf attraction will create 12 jobs and will be an integral part of the £2m refurbishment and expansion of the retail centre. The revamp will add to the existing 14-screen cinema, health club, bingo club and children’s play area.
Coleen Fox of Savills Retail said, “We are delighted to welcome Lost City Golf to Cityside and be the first to offer the indoor adventure golf experience,” she said.
“It is a great addition to the already strong tenant mix within the scheme. Also, with the opening of GymCo in the coming weeks, we will be sure to see a positive knock-on effect to other retailers in the scheme, with footfall expected to increase significantly due to the exciting new leisure offerings.”
