A fun filled day was had at Jackson Square shopping centre in Bishops Stortford for the Community Sports Sign Up Day. Our Crazy Golf course was a popular attraction in Jackson Square over the weekend, with some 150 players taking to the nine-hole course.
A combination of cyclists, anglers, hockey, badminton and bowls players were on hand to promote their local clubs and membership deals to the public in an event twinned with crazy golf.
The shopping centre’s charity of the year Guide Dogs included an appearance from Elsa, a Guide Dog puppy in training who was petted throughout the morning. Here’s Elsa lapping up the attention!
Those who took to the crazy golf course raised just over £324 for Jackson Square’s charity of the year, the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. A special mention to the local volunteers on the day – Jane, Peter and Tony for their support to such a worthy charity.
This isn’t the first time Putterfingers have had the pleasure of working with the Guide Dogs as our equipment was used in 2013 at the Political Party Conferences to communicate their Streets Ahead campaign. This campaign was further documented to reduce Street Clutter for blind or partially sighted pedestrians.
Grace Bagster, centre manager at Jackson Square, said:
“The centre was a hive of activity on Saturday with some great stalls from the local sports clubs.
The golf course proved popular throughout the shopping centre, with families and children coming through throughout the day.”
The support from the shoppers and centre management from Jackson Square made us feel very welcome and we were pleased that our portable crazy golf course was considered as a tool to promote local sports in the area.
If we can support any of your future shopping centre activities, do get in touch as we can offer a range of course sizes and options.
