Well Sunday was a day for golf as both the Augusta Masters and the 2014 British Mini Golf Masters results poured in.
After driving back from the Alps in a steady 12 hours, we arrived home to see Bubba Watson put on the infamous green blazer and read the results of the BMGA Mini Golf Masters where Micheal Smith made it two wins in three years.
Michael Smith, from Oxford, received the legendary British Minigolf Association (BMGA) tweed jacket for the second time in his career from defending champion Adam Kelly after shooting a four-round total of nine under par. He also took the first prize of £50 and the British Masters trophy after beating a strong field of 30 players from across the UK.
Speaking after his victory, Michael said “I’m delighted to have won the 2014 British Masters. Splash Point is such a difficult course where every misjudgement is ruthlessly punished, so to win an event on this course and beat some fantastic players on the way is a brilliant feeling. A huge thank you to the course owners and everyone involved in running the event.”
To top it all off we were treated to this funny video on You Tube by Simon Connor who has edited professional golf to meet with crazy golf, with the greens of Augusta lined with mini golf obstacles.
Having left Les Arcs after an annual ski break it was a disappointment to read that on one of the very slopes we skiied there would be a Ride and Golf event today, Thursday 17th April 2014.
This is a combination of skiing and golf in Arc 2000 with Ride n Golf. The rules are: 9 targets will be placed on the edge of the track Plagnette. The aim is to score maximum points (counted from the place where the ball ends up).
Putting on snow is fairly new to us – it seems that our My Mini Golf obstacles can be used anywhere, with or without hiring a crazy golf course.
