National Trust

Background of Polesden Lacey
In 1923, Bertie and Elizabeth, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, commenced their honeymoon at Polesden Lacey. This is where they indulged in a game of golf amidst the scenic gardens. To commemorate this historic moment, a Putterfingers 9-hole miniature golf course has been purchased for visitors to relive their experience during the upcoming May half-term and bank holidays. During the Great Depression, mini golf courses became a popular form of affordable entertainment, and their popularity continued to grow in the following decades. Therefore, it seems to sit perfectly in place at all in these gorgeous historic properties!
